On June 5th Taylor Swift closed out her 15 month world tour to a sold out Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. For those keeping count, that’s over 55 thousand people. In a down economy and a lackluster start to summer ticket sales what is it about Swift that catapulted her to the top of her game and allows her to sell out a FOOTBALL Stadium with ease? Even though she’s barely out of her teens Taylor Swift learned the golden rule early in her career, music fans are looking for one thing – gratitude. Be appreciative of your fans and they’ll be yours forever.
With an emphasis on affordable tickets, and fan friendly acts like conducting a 13 hour meet and greet where she’ll meet as many fans as she possibly can (really, read all about it here ) – it’s these little nuances that set her a level above the rest. Swift seems to reinvent the term “pop star” giving it a more likeable personality and an added depth . She writes her own songs, she plays her own music and she’s a positive role model - elements the term “pop star” has not always implied. Simply put, she raises the bar for those that follow.
As her final show kicked off in Foxboro, MA Swift delivered a feast for all of the senses offering up elaborate costume changes, heart shaped confetti and performances from out in the crowd. A few songs in Swift humbly addressed her loyal brethren(predominantly teen girls who embrace Swift’s songs as the soundtrack to their lives). “I have fallen completely in love with you after only two songs!” Something tells us, that love is not unrequited.
