We can only imagine that the Godsmack guys had the July 22nd Mayhem date marked on their calendar from day one, nothing beats a hometown crowd! It has been awhile since New England has seen Godsmack on stage since Sully has been busy with his solo tour so I think everyone was excited for the show.
They rocked their 11 song set chock full of hits starting straight out of the gates with “Cryin’ Like a Bitch” and wrapping up the night with “I Stand Alone”.
TWRY photographer Jamie Ivins was on hand to capture it all, check out his gallery of Godsmack’s set below! Mayhem Festival continues through mid August. Check out their website for remaining dates and ticket info!

In honor of their 30th anniversary Metallica has announced four special shows for their fan club members. The band will invade the Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9, and 10th. According to the band, the intimate shows will include special guests, different set lists each night and rarities. You can read all about it straight from the horses mouth below:
Thirty years of Metallica… can you believe it? We think it’s cause for a major celebration! You’ve been asking for a while now “just what the hell are you going to do to mark 30 years as a band?” closely followed by “why don’t we have more exclusive shows for Fan Club members?” We’ve heard you loud and clear and are beyond psyched to announce that the week of December 5, 2011 will be a full on Metallica week in the Bay Area, more specifically we will be playing four shows for Met Club members only at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco on December 5, 7, 9, and 10 to celebrate our 30th anniversary. These unique shows will include special guests and events, rare songs, varied set lists, odds and ends, and all the nutty stuff you expect from Metallica… fun for the entire family! Come to the Bay Area and spend the week with us to not only close out 2011 out with a bang, but to celebrate over three decades worth of craziness.
Participate in the entire week of festivities with special four pack tickets (one ticket for each of the four shows) and automatic entry into the contests for various other special events, available for the clever price of $19.81 (get it??). If you can’t join us for the full week, we’ll have individual show tickets too and as you can see we’re going back to early ’80’s ticket pricing (but not the hair!)… single show tickets will be just $6.00 each. Both four packs and individual show tickets will be available for Fan Club members only through a reservation system and we do have to add facility fees, blah, blah. Clubbers can log in for all the details… we’re taking reservations through August 8.
Hope to see you for a week of madness in December!
Mayhem Fest stampeded its way into the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA on July 22 for what would prove to be a long sweaty day of metal and mosh pits. With the weather hitting record temperatures by the time Megadeth hit the stage, their song “Sweating Bullets” seemed fitting!
Headlining the show with Disturbed and hometown boys Godsmack, Megadeth proved to be one of the crowd favorites of the evening. With Dave Mustaine’s signature red swirling mane, Dave Ellefson’s devil horns high in the air and Chris Broderick bouncing from one side of the stage to the other , it was as hot on the stage as it was off.
The only downfall of playing as part of an epic bill like Mayhem Fest is that each band doesn’t get to play as long as the crowd would probably like but it’s a fair trade off for a full day of metal that Mayhem delivers. Megadeth made the most of their set powering through classics like “Hangar 18”, “Symphony of Destruction” and “Peace Sells”.
TWRY photographer Jamie Ivins was on hand to capture it all, check out his gallery of Megadeth’s set below! Mayhem Festival continues through mid August. Check out their website for remaining dates and ticket info!

Eve To Adam are the true epitome of rock – never afraid to risk it all for their craft, they’ve had their share of ups and downs throughout their career but when it comes down to the music, they’ve stayed true to themselves and really, what’s more rock and roll than that?
The band (Brothers Taki Sassaris on vocals and Alex Sassaris on drums, Gaurav Bali on guitar and newcomer Eric Bergmann on bass) is back with new management and a whole new energy surrounding their new album Banquet For a Starving Dog, due out on September 13th of this year. The songs are honest, gritty, and if you don’t watch out, they’ll step right out and grab your soul. Fans have embraced the first single “Run Your Mouth” with open arms and the band has taken to the streets to test drive their new material on a current tour run with Saving Abel.
I recently caught up with frontman Taki Sassaris to talk about what’s been going on with the band, the making of the new album, and his hopes for the future of Eve To Adam.
