TWRY Video of the Week: Blue October / The Chills
Blue October has just released the video for the new single, “The Chills”. The song is on their upcoming album, Any Man in America, due out August 16th.
The video was shot with a Phantom Flex High Speed camera, which films at 1080p with just over 2,500 frames per second and allowed for the extreme high quality capture of the super slow motion scenes. The camera was chosen because director Jeff Ray wanted the video to have “a new look.” The basic concepts explored in “The Chills” video are those moments in a relationship, or life in general, when you become so frustrated or so overwhelmed with a person or situation that you just want to punch a hole in the wall…but you don’t. However, in the video, no one suppresses that emotion. No one bottles up their feelings. If someone feels angry, they let that anger out. It’s about reverting back to your primal instincts and Blue October is the catalyst for all of this. They wanted to make a video that touched people and gave them goosebumps….The Chills!
