Three Minutes With…Scotty Griffin
He’s the bass player for LA Guns (Well, he was, then he wasn’t, now he is again.)– the real version with the original voice of LA Guns, Phil Lewis. He’s also played in The King Mixers and Hookers N’ Blow.
Scott took on the Sack O’ Questions for two rounds after playing with the Sin City Sinners for their 4 year anniversary celebration. Enjoy!
So, the question you drew is…. What drives you to do what you do?
Oh. What drives me to do what I do? I don’t know how to do anything else. And I love it. And I like people looking at me….
Wow. Bigger ego than me! <chuckles>
I do! That’s basically it. You know when I realized it? I went to an Ozzy concert, not front-row, but almost front-row. I remember, I stood up and I looked at the stage and said “This is awesome!” Then I turned around and went “This is MORE awesome!” I looked at the crowd…. I looked at everybody, and that was it. That’s what I want, right there. So… I forget what the question was.
What drives you to do what you do.
Oh, that, and my car. Or a plane. Or maybe a van. Limo, sometimes we get lucky and get a limo. That drives me to do what I wanna do.
The other question you drew is, what are three albums you think everyone should own and why?
Oh! Easy! Well, no, not really easy. Three albums that everyone should own…. It can only be three, huh?
Not necessarily. It can be more.
No. I’m gonna make this three. How do I want to go on this one? I’m gonna say… The Beatles, Revolver. Everybody has Sgt. Pepper, get Revolver, it came out right before it. That’s the one that nobody knows about. Number two is gonna be Tom Jones Live.
Because it’s Tom Jones. And he’s live. And that’s pretty much all you have to say about that. “It’s Not Unusual” is on that… “What’s New Pussycat”… “Delilah”…
I always was under the impression that one needed to experience him visually.
And then, I need to say two albums. Two more – Enuff Z’Nuff Paraphernalia, bcause I just realized that it’s their most awesome album, and they’re a band that gets better and better and better with every album, no matter what is happening in their personal lives or whatever. And then Jellyfish Spilt Milk.
Why on that one?
You just listen to it and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Okay. And now you can promote anything you want to talk about. Project. Product. Place. And it doesn’t even have to be yours!
Okay…. I want to promote…. Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion. Because it smells so awesome! It does! I do not use perfumes or colognes but I do put on some Hawaiian Tropic every now and then. I keep myself kind of moisturized and I just think that Hawaiian Tropic is kinda sexy. If you’re having problems, then just put on some Hawaiian Tropic and you might get a little more attention. That’s all I’m sayin’….
Alright. Two questions, a plug, AND advice. That’s a first….
And advice! You get it all from me! I don’t know if it’s good advice, but….
I’ll letcha know!
So, if anyone tries the Hawaiian Tropic and you get more attention, let us know here… Oh heck, even if that fails, let me know! Inquiring minds want to know!
Super huge Thank Yous and Big Love go to Andrea Lopez, Jess Holmes, Jason Green, and my personal PR guy, Sin City Sinners’ own Doc Ellis for this. Yous awl RAWK!
