Goodbye Dustin Hengst
We woke up to the sad news this morning that Damone / Bleu drummer Dustin Hengst had passed away. As of now we do not know the cause of death but it is with heavy hearts that we remember the music that Dustin made and brought into our lives.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
As a Boston based website, we’ve followed Damone’s career over the years and have always been big fans, although we didn’t know Dustin on a deeply personal level, he was always a shy, kind soul.
We’d like to share this song that Dustin’s Damone bandmate Mike Woods posted, it’s a beautiful song and we thank him for sharing it. Please take a moment to listen to it and remember Dustin.
From Mike Woods:
“So back when it became obvious that Damone’s days were numbered, I wrote a song for all of the amazing people & places we we’re lucky enough to meet, know, & befriend along the way.
It’s sung here by the extremely talented Juliet Simms. If there was ever a time for me to share this with all of you, I think that time is now. And believe me, I’m speaking for all of us in there. This one is for all of you….”
UPDATE: Bleu has posted some information and offered a way for people to help out, should they feel inclined:
…we set up a paypal account that will go to his wife to help her get through this incredibly trying time…if you’d like to donate, the paypal account is simply firstname.lastname@example.org ..anything you can do will be helpful of course…
