The original version of this concert released on DVD back in 2002 was a huge disappointment.  Not only was the concert picture and sound not enhanced but the show is missing almost the entire first half of performances from Metallica, Extreme, Def Leppard, Bob Geldof and Guns N Roses.  Maybe the biggest crime amongst the bunch is the Extreme medley of classic Queen songs.  This was THE highlight of the entire show and when you NOW watch the audience reaction I know they thought so too.

Well, have no fear the folks at Eagle Vision have resurrected this amazing tribute show with an all new 3 DVD set that includes not only the opening sets and all of the middle performances with new audio enhancements but the 3rd disc includes a 10th anniversary documentary, rehearsal performances of “Under Pressure”, “These are The Days of Our Lives” and “Somebody To Love”.  Also included is a photo gallery of some rare pictures not seen in years.

The concert speaks for itself with a laundry list of big name stars and performers including the aforementioned bands, Roger Daltry, Tony Iommi, Seal, Lisa Stansfield, Paul Young, David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Mick Ronson, George Michael, Elton John and Liza Minnelli.  These songs all include Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor as the Queen backing band with all of these guests vocalists.  A very moving tribute to a legendary singer lost way too early.

Back on April 20, 1992 at London’s Wembley Stadium this show was originally broadcast on MTV and throughout Europe.  What’s a bit curious even on this release is the omission of Extreme’s “Love of My Life” and “More Than Words”.  Also Def Leppard had a longer set that included “Animal” and “Let’s Get Rocked”.   Also not included is Spinal Tap doing “Majesty of Rock”, U2 “Until the End of the World” (live via satellite) and Robert Plant’s “Innuendo” from the Queen part of the show.  Curious but I’m certain there is a reason they are not included.

You cannot go wrong adding this DVD to your rock collection.  It’s a classic concert now persevered in much brighter, better sounding quality than ever before.  It’s the definitive version of this show now available.  If you don’t own it you now have no excuse to go out and pick it up!  What are you waiting for?  Go!
