Metalheads and punk rockers alike united at a bar by the train tracks for a brutal night of extreme music. Four bands and a packed house? What more could you ask for?
Starting things off were local heroes Nightbitch. While the crowd immediately rolled their eyes when the band referred to traditional metal as “tradish,” they’ve got some solid musical chops nonetheless. Nightbitch deserves a lot of respect for both using a Hammond organ in their songs as well as featuring clean singing…by a vocalist who can actually sing. It’s a relatively rare occurrence when folk metal bands come to New England and it’s not the dead of winter, with fans freezing their asses off. So, it was most welcome to hang around in forty-plus degree weather rather than four degrees when Finntroll dropped in with some impressive supporting acts in tow. Megadeth, Slayer & Anthrax Tour Dates – Leg Two of American Carnage Tour

1991’s original American “Clash of the Titans” lineup – Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax – will tour together once again on Leg Two of the American Carnage Tour. This trek kicks off September 24 at Verizon Wireless Theatre in Dallas, TX and will play 20 dates, including New York’s Nassau Coliseum, concluding at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 21.
On Leg Two of American Carnage, Megadeth will continue to roar through its landmark 1990 album Rust in Peace from front to back, while Slayer will rip the roof off by performing its much-lauded Seasons in the Abyss album, which was also released in 1990. Anthrax recently welcomed back singer Joey Belladonna, who defined the band during their heyday, and now permanently back in the band, will be front-and-center.
A special pre-sale will launch this Wednesday, July 14, and fans should log onto www.slayer.net – www.megadeth.com – or www.anthrax.com – to obtain the special code needed for the pre-sale, and then go to www.ticketmaster.com (http://knoxvilletickets.com/ for the Knoxville date) to purchase tickets. The public on-sale will begin July 23 in most markets.

Avenged Sevenfold Reveal Artwork & Tracklisting For “Nightmare”

Avenged Sevenfold have just revealed the artwork for their upcoming album, Nightmare, which in-stores on July 27th. The band will also be releasing a special limited edition of their upcoming album on Warner Bros. Records. Nightmare was produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem) and mixed by noted engineer Andy Wallace. Tracklisting below.
Book of Nightmares includes the full Nightmare album on CD, plus an expanded booklet featuring lyric sheets from the band and exclusive artwork all packaged in a bound book with a silver-plated Nightmare crest. The package also includes a limited 24 x 36 lithograph entitled Death Bat Anatomy featuring original artwork on textured paper embossed, as well as an instant digital download of Avenged Sevenfold’s current single Nightmare.
