A message from Rise Against:
We’ve just completed our new video for the song “Hero Of War” off of our record, Appeal To Reason. “Hero Of War” is the story of one soldier, not all soldiers, as he battles not just the war around him, but the war that rages within. Inspired by true events, we were given the choice to either document the tribulations of these times as they unfold around us, or ignore them. To ignore these problems, in our opinion, is letting down the brave men and women who risk everything. “Hero Of War” is our attempt to lift the stigma that surrounds everything from the skyrocketing suicide rate of troops, torture, internal sexual abuse, an under-funded VA, and the growing number of military personnel fighting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as they return home. We hope this song and this video help the simmering dialogue about these problems evolve into a rolling boil.

The Datsuns release their fourth album, Headstunts, on May 19th. Featuring 12 new tracks, “Head Stunts” was recorded in Sweden, and is self-produced. From the full-throttle opener Human Error, to the dirtbike guitars and frenzied pummelling of Yeah, Yeah, Just Another Mistake and the 70’s stomp rock of Highschool Hoodlums, the album finds the band unleashing their finest work to date.
“Lyrically it’s about mind games really, ‘Headstunts’ is an anagram of The Datsuns. We were aware of it all along but we didn’t want to make it too obvious,” explains singer Dolf. “We got a new member of the band on drums, Ben Cole, so it was like making our first record again, with new influences and new abilities. With a new person, we were able to feed off each other in different ways, and also revive some old ideas that did not click before. Taking those ideas, and then flipping them around, just like you do with an anagram. So I suppose there is some kind of clumsy poetry there.”
“When we started making this album we played a lot together, and we were doing long, drawn out songs, but we ended up making a power pop record: it’s a lot more pop than anything else we’ve done, but it still sounds heavy. We’re just a rock’n’roll band playing music the way we want to do it.”

TANTRIC will be releasing their fourth album, MIND CONTROL, July 21 on the Silent Majority Group label (through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group). It was produced by Brett Hestla (Creed, Framing Hanley, Dark New Day) and is the follow-up to 2008’s THE END BEGINS, which produced the Top Five Rock hit, “Down and Out.”
TANTRIC was formed from the ashes of Platinum acoustic rock band Days of the New. After scores of U.S. tours, multiple Rock hits including ”Breakdown,” “Mourning,” “Astounded,” “Hey Now,” and “Down and Out,” TANTRIC has grown into a mainstay at the Rock radio formats. While the band’s recurrent tracks continue to enjoy plenty of radio play, their fourth album, MIND CONTROL, is being greeted by early listeners as their “heaviest and hookiest” work to date. The title track—the album’s first single--will surely become, yet again, another rock radio staple. A video will hit the TV and Internet airwaves in the next few weeks.
In touring news, look for the band to launch a full-scale summer tour in July. Details are forthcoming.
