Concert Gallery: Blink-182 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA

As we all anxiously await the release of Blink-182’s upcoming album Neighborhoods, the band set out as co-headliners (along with My Chemical Romance) on the 2011 Honda Civic Tour.  Blink seems to be making the most of the road by testing a lot of the new material from the first single “Up All Night” to other new songs like “Ghost on the Dancefloor”.  For those more interested in a taste of Blink nostalgia, they had you covered from “What’s My Age Again?” to “All the Small Things”. All in all the nicely rounded out set list gave us a great taste of the new material without depriving us of the songs that are forever ingrained in our hearts and souls.

As for the live show, one thing hasn’t changed and that’s the stage banter back and forth between Mark and Tom.  Blink may age gracefully but their onstage personnas seem to have contracted Benjamin Button syndrome.  They’re goofy and silly and exactly what you’d expect from Blink-182.

Neighborhoods may prove to be a more “mature” album from Blink-182 but most of us have grown up with them and can appreciate that.  The Honda Civic Tour makes it’s way across the country and back with dates through October.  Check out the remaining dates here.

On a side note, Blink-182 is hands down my favorite band to shoot.  This was the third time I’ve had the privilege and they did not disappoint!  Thank you Mark! Thank you Tom! Thank you Travis!  If you need a tour photographer, hit up this girl!

Concert Gallery: Megadeth at Mayhem Festival at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA

Mayhem Fest stampeded its way into the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA on July 22 for what would prove to be a long sweaty day of metal and mosh pits.  With the weather hitting record temperatures by the time Megadeth hit the stage, their song “Sweating Bullets” seemed fitting!

Headlining the show with Disturbed and hometown boys Godsmack, Megadeth proved to be one of the crowd favorites of the evening.   With Dave Mustaine’s signature red swirling mane,  Dave Ellefson’s devil horns high in the air and Chris Broderick bouncing from one side of the stage to the other , it was as hot on the stage as it was off.

The only downfall of playing as part of an epic bill like Mayhem Fest is that each band doesn’t get to play as long as the crowd would probably like but it’s a fair trade off for a full day of metal that Mayhem delivers.    Megadeth made the most of their set powering through classics like “Hangar 18”, “Symphony of Destruction” and “Peace Sells”.

TWRY photographer Jamie Ivins was on hand to capture it all, check out his gallery of Megadeth’s set below!  Mayhem Festival continues through mid August.  Check out their website for remaining dates and ticket info!

Warped Tour Top 10 – Enter Shikari at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA

It’s summer time and that can mean only one thing – the rock and roll summer camp known as the Vans Warped Tour is in full swing!  Now celebrating it’s 17th year of bringing together today’s hottest acts alongside up and coming artists mixed in with the subculture of it all, Warped is alive and well.

The one word that comes to mind when you think of Warped is diversity.  It’s not every day that Paramore and A Day To Remember share the same stage, but in the world of Warped Tour, all things are possible!

Mansfield, MA has been host to a bevy of Warped Tours over the years and the one constant has always been….the rain.  The day may start out beautifully without a cloud in the sky but rest assured by the time the last band has hit the stage a downpour or twelve will have fallen.  It’s become part of the game!

This year we decided to feature galleries of ten featured artists from the day!  Our latest featured band is Enter Shikari.  Enter Shikari was one of the most recommended sets of Warped Tour.  Whenever we asked you who we should see the answer was always “Enter Shikari”.  So we did!  Check out our photos from their set below.

Warped Tour continues through August! For all the remaining dates, hit up the official website here.

Sean and Nat rocked their Warped Tour set including their latest single “Robot”. Check out our gallery from the show below.

This year we decided to feature galleries of ten featured artists from the day!  Our second featured band is the six-pack hardcore outfit The Devil Wears Prada.  They’re not new to Warped Tour but they always rip it up and leave the crowd in pieces.  You’d be hardpressed to find another frontman quite as intense as Mike Hranica and he may be in the running for the most tattooed on the tour as well. That would probaby be a tight race but he’s definitely sporting some of our favorite ink!  Check out our gallery from their set below.
