Part of AEG Live’s World’s Loudest Month, Rocklahoma 2013 was a rousing success, bringing together tens of thousands of hard rock fans and scores of bands.  Emceed by That Metal Show’s Eddie Trunk, for three days and nights Pryor, Oklahoma became the epicenter of  hard rock.  Headliners included Guns N’ Roses, Alice In Chains, and Korn, along with hard rock and metal favorites Ratt, Papa Roach, Bullet For My Valentine, Dokken, Hollywood Undead and many others.  And as a special treat for fans of classic rock, Cheap Trick played an amazing set Sunday night, hitting fan favorite after fan favorite.

TheyWillRockYou.com was on the scene, catching up with old friends and making new ones in what was a whirlwind of a weekend.  We are happy to report that hard rock is thriving – the classic/established bands are cranking out new work, and there’s a generation of up-and-coming bands ready to take up the mantle.  We’ve started to post coverage, and will continue to do so over the coming days, giving you a front row seat to Steel Panther, Cheap Trick, Bullet For My Valentine, Skillet, Halestorm, Papa Roach, Ratt, and Lynam.

In the meantime, check out our photo gallery below for  a taste of what a Rocklahoma weekend is like!

Lynam has announced the details about their new live album entitled Thank You Good Night! The album will be released on November 30th through Island/Def Jam digital distribution and New Ocean Media. Thank You Good Night! is the bands 6th album since forming in 2001 and will sadly be the band’s last album.

The album was recorded at various shows from 2006 – 2010 by the bands soundman Todd ‘Pee-Nut’ Hester and mixed by Jason Elgin (Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, Terrible Things, Collective Soul). The new album will be Lynam’s final album. “we’re not breaking up” states Jacob. “We’ve been together for a long time and we want to concentrate on new projects. We are all still best friends and will always play together moving forward, but we’re ready to explore different oppor- tunities outside of Lynam. We toured behind Tragic City Symphony for 2 years and are looking for- ward to touring behind the new record.”

Best of luck to the Lynam boys and their future endeavors!  Can’t wait to hear Thank You Good Night!  Follow the band on Facebook to keep up with what they’re doing.

David and Jacob of Lynam

lynammainAlabama based Lynam have one mission – to put the ROCK back in rock and roll.  With their upcoming release Tragic City Symphony they give it their best shot – drums fit for an arena, catchy choruses, and a ballad or two to raise your lighter…er…cell phone to!  Big arena style rock is not a thing of the past, it’s just missing from the present but Lynam is intent on making it a fixture of the future.  With guest appearances by Cinderella’s Tom Keifer and Hinder and produced by the likes of Jason Elgin (Collective Soul, Maylene, Sons of Disaster), Tragic City Symphony is primed and ready for a rock n roll revolution.

The trio (Jacob Lynam on vocals and guitar, David Lynam on drums and vocals and Mark Lynam on bass and vocals) are blood brothers with DNA derived from pure adrenalized rock.  Drawing their influences from bands like Motley Crue, Nickelback and Green Day, Lynam looks to fill the heavy shoes of bands that know how to command a stage and excite an army of fans.  Currently on a non-stop tour of bringing their show to every stage that will have them the band is also taking part in the upcoming sold out Motley Cruise, that’s right – rock on water baby!

Recently Jacob and David took some time to talk to TWRY staffer Stacie about the state of the music industry, their personal manifesto to bring rock n roll back to it’s glory days and all things Lynam.
