In 2009, the Boston Phoenix compiled a list of the “Best New Bands In America,” 50 bands from 50 states. Our local boys, the unpredictable double-drummed and double-titled Magic Magic, hailed victorious in Massachusetts, while the Midwest madcap indie-rock outfit Sleeping in the Aviary was tagged as the band from Wisconsin not to miss. You may have seen other recipients of this high honor on stages around the city, but with both Magic Magic and Sleeping in the Aviary making the rounds on cd release tours, Thursday evening (March 24th) is certain to bring fresh material, frenzied talent, and unbridled ridiculousness in the best possible way.
With support from local ensemble The Bleeders (Mems of Miss Geo and the Metrics/The Observatory), come to check out the best Midwest band you’ve never heard, to celebrate Magic Magic’s triumphant return to home turf, or if only to witness a show that’s guaranteed to be one hell of a party.
18+ show, $10 cover, and tickets are on sale now! If you buy tickets in advance, you’ll get 20% off food at the Middle East the night of the show. Purchase tickets here.
Hope to see you there!
