TWRY Video Of The Week – Manchester Orchestra/Shake It Out

Our video of the week is Manchester Orchestra’s second single, “Shake It Out”.   Check it out below. The video is a brilliant homage to 1980’s action films (tongue firmly planted in cheek).

Manchester Orchestra just finished hugely successful tours with Brand New as well as Silversun Pickups. They will be joining Brand New and Glassjaw for their very special hometown show at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY, on November 28th. They are off to Europe in November to open for Biffy Clyro and to do headline dates in Germany.

Manchester Orchestra and Favorite Gentlemen are proud to present “Everything To Nothing” on Apple QuickTime.

“Everything To Nothing” is the 10th video in the 11-part series.  The video continues the story of a young woman on a surreal journey through decaying film and lost memories to discover what she is missing.  In this chapter she lands in a barren wasteland devoid of life or hope, but ultimately stumbles upon a powerful discovery.

The full-album series concept was conceived by the Emmy Award winning directing team of Clay Lipsky and Jason Bognacki of Destroy Rock Music Inc., whom also directed “I Can Barely Breathe” from the band’s debut I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child.

Manchester Orchestra and Favorite Gentlemen present “My Friend Marcus” on Alternative Press.

This cinematic flashback examines life from the perspective of a young child. Through a series of iconic clips, we witness the carefree times of growth and the special bond between father and son. These are the times that define a “normal” American childhood idealized by many.

The full-album series concept was conceived by the Emmy Award winning directing team of Clay Lipsky and Jason Bognacki of Destroy Rock Music Inc., whom also directed “I Can Barely Breathe” from the band’s debut I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child.

Lipsky notes that the vision behind the videos are to “create a cinematic collage of decaying film and lost memories intertwined with a loose narrative about a young woman on a surreal journey to find what she is missing.” The videos to follow will continue to discover the many layers hiding within the new record.

Manchester Orchestra and Favorite Gentlemen are proud to present “I Can Feel A Hot One” on Paste Magazine.

Exhausted? Dead? Dreaming? Many questions arise as we find our hero collapsed in the woods. She is transported to an ethereal plane where all is beautiful. Yet the angelic beauty of her surroundings can not outweigh her pain that has followed her. Ultimately she is driven her to make the ultimate sacrifice that could lead to her demise or take her deeper into this new found consciousness.

The full-album series concept was conceived by the Emmy Award winning directing team of Clay Lipsky and Jason Bognacki of Destroy Rock Music Inc., whom also directed “I Can Barely Breathe” from the band’s debut I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child.
