Concert Gallery: RUSH at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT

At the beginning of the month RUSH kicked off their “Time Machine” tour.  Earlier this summer the band revealed that they would be playing their fan favorite album “Moving Pictures” in it’s entirety during their current jaunt.  Last night at a seemingly sold out Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, the crowd enjoyed a 25 song, 2 set show from the band.   The first set offered up a  healthy mix of the classics mixed in with some of their newer offerings and even a brand new song from their forth coming album “Clockwork Angels” – due out next year.  I guess when your discography dates back to 1974 the options are limitless.  The second set was the aforementioned Moving Pictures” from start to finish and a few extra goodies including drummer Neil Peart’s time to shine during his solo.

The trio have been playing together for longer than I’ve been alive so it’s no surprise that their sound was tight and sounded like a well oiled (time) machine. It’s this precision in part that’s helped them amass a legion of loyal fans and followers, some as old as them and some quite new to the scene – a timeless sound that’s fit to pass down from generation from generation.  Looking out through the predominantly male crowd it was fun to see many youngsters accompanying their Dads who had given them the gift of music and likely passed down the torch of being a lifetime RUSH fan.

With no opening act and proving that you can indeed open for yourself RUSH intro’ed their first set with a fun video montage that showed off their sense of humor and allowed them to slap on a fat suit and a fake moustache or two – all in the name of rock n’ roll.  So get their early enough to catch it!

RUSH takes their “Time Machine” tour across the country and back through the next few months before wrapping it up at the beginning of October.  You can check out a full list of tour dates here. was on hand to capture the concert in photos, check out our gallery below.
