Concert Gallery: B.O.M.B.Fest (Day 2) at the Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT

This past Memorial Day Weekend the non-profit B.O.M.B.Fest returned to Connecticut.  Standing for “Bring Our Music Back” the festival pairs local up and coming acts with larger more nationally known acts to help the local music community gain some exposure and to enlighten music fans to the talented local musicians that are often right in their own back yard.

This year’s event grew so quickly that it was moved from the original planned location of Western Connecticut State University to The Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT.

While there were a few hiccups with the lineup due to George Clinton falling ill and having to drop off the bill (hope you’re feeling better George!) and a few acts having to cancel (Wiz Khalifa, The Dum Dum Girls and Miss PussyCat) for unknown reasons, the spirit of the festival was strong and the music was flowing over.  Not only did they mix local acts with national acts but the styles of music were as diverse as the day was long from Weezer to The Cool Kids to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, there truly was a little something for everyone!  The sun even came out for the day!

Oh, and we did mention that B.O.M.B.Fest is a non-profit so where does your money go for all that great music?  Well, B.O.M.B.Fest is passing on the musical torch to future generations.  Part of the money you spend will help kids who don’t have it so good….like the ones at The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp and Connecticut Children’s Hospital.  For more details on that, visit the festival’s official site.

So for those of you who made it out to the festival – which of the local acts was your favorite? Who do you think might be on the bigger stage before we know it?

Our photographer Diana Guay was on hand to capture it all and here are shots from Day 2!  (And you can check out our previously posted Day 1 gallery here)
