Wilco Announce Tour Dates In Support Of New Album “The Whole Love”

 Wilco has announced their plans to  release their eighth studio album – The Whole Love on September 27 through their newly launched dBpm Records.

Coinciding with the album’s release will be the first leg of Wilco’s North American tour, with performances at Toronto’s Massey Hall, Boston’s Wang Theatre, New York City’s Central Park Summerstage, Nashville’s Ryman and more. Nick Lowe supports on all dates. Complete tour dates are listed below.

Wilco’s second Solid Sound Festival is set to go down this weekend, June 24-25 at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA!!!!  The music and arts festival is curated by Wilco and features two headlining concerts by Wilco, plus 18 bands including Levon Helm, Thurston Moore, Syl Johnston, Dave Douglas, Neil Finn, Liam Finn, Jamie Lidell, Wilco side projects, special pop-up performances and more, plus a comedy cabaret hosted by John Hodgman and featuring Wyatt Cenac, Eugene Mirman and Morgan Murphy.  Check out the full event program here.

That’s a whole lotta goodness packed into one weekend and you probably think it’s too late to go right?  WRONG!  We have two tickets and two bus seats (departing at noon on Friday from the Woburn-Anderson Transportation Center) for one lucky winner!    The only think you need to worry about is lodging but you probably have friends going right?  Hit them up and share a room!  (Please note that contest winner has to take the provided transportation to receive the tickets.) will be on hand reviewing the show and now you can be there too!

Wilco’s 2011 Solid Sound Line-Up Revealed

Last year Wilco debuted their new music and arts themed Solid Sound Festival.  This year they plan to build on that momentum on June 24-26, 2011 at the same location  – MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA.

The line-up is as follows:
Wilco (Fri. & Sat.), the Levon Helm Band, Thurston Moore, Syl Johnson & the Sweet Divines, Here We Go Magic, Dave Douglas & Brass Ecstasy, Pillow Wand (Nels Cline/Thurston Moore duo), Handsome Family, Liam Finn, Sic Alps, JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Glenn Kotche, Pronto, the Autumn Defense, Comedy Cabaret curated by John Hodgman featuring Wyatt Cenac, Eugene Mirman & Morgan Murphy, plus the return of the Story Pirates — all at the largest contemporary art museum in the country with the backdrop of the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts.

Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival will be coming back in 2011.  According to the website the event is scheduled for June 24-26, 2011.  The event will take place at the same location (MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA) and an official announcement with ticketing info and all the details you’re longing for will be released on January 18, 2011.  Stay tuned!

WILCO Announces Solid Sound Festival August 13-15, 2010

WILCO has announced plans for the first Solid Sound Festival.

The Solid Sound Festival will debut August 13 – 15 at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) in North Adams, MA. It’s an independently promoted and ticketed three-day event of music, art, comedy, interactivity and more. Wilco headlines the weekend, in the band’s only East Coast performance of the summer. This new festival also presents individual performances by all the Wilco members side projects including Glenn Kotche’s On Fillmore, The Nels Cline Singers, The Autumn Defense featuring John Stirratt and Pat Sansone and Mikael Jorgensens Pronto.

Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA also plays host to additional musical performances, a fully programmed comedy stage, interactive installations and exhibits (including the Solid Sound Stompbox Station, an interactive guitar pedal exhibit created and demonstrated by Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, a concert-poster screening demonstration, planned workshops by luthiers and more), plus film, video installations and djʼs. Festival attendees will have full access to the entire MASS MoCA campus, which incorporates 150,000 square feet of galleries. MASS MoCA, a renovated 19th century textile mill, is the largest center for contemporary visual and performing arts in the U.S. Art on display in the galleries during the festival includes the Sol LeWitt Retrospective (chosen #1 exhibition of the year by Time magazine), Inigo Manglano Ovalleʼs Gravity is a Force to be Reckoned with, Petah Coyneʼs Material World: Sculpture to Environment, Leonard Nimoyʼs Secret Selves and a new installation by
Michael Oatman.

Tickets are on sale this Friday, April 9 through the band’s official website and through From April 9 to May 31 tickets for the three-day event will be available for $86.50 (including all fees and parking) and after June 1 for $99.50 (including all fees and parking).
